Police Taser knife suspect in York street
Police used a Taser stun gun to restrain a man suspected of carrying a knife in York city centre.
The 31-year-old man was arrested on Tang Hall Lane on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon. He was being held in custody for questioning.
Officers were called to reports of a man carrying a blade in Temple Avenue.
After a short chase at about 1200 GMT officers were forced to use the Taser when he initially resisted arrest, a police spokesman said.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
