Scarborough bakery in administration after 75 years

A bakery which has been trading for 75 years in North Yorkshire has gone into administration.

The family-run Woodhead Bakery, which has a factory in Scarborough, supplied 30 shops in the town.

The firm said it had made 30 of its 310 employees redundant. The business will continue to operate under administrators, P&A Partnership.

The company said it had been "hit by inflation and the impact of rising global wheat prices".

It also said "harsh economic conditions" on the high street had made it difficult to run the business.
