Hundreds of bikers have taken to the roads in North Yorkshire to raise money for the Help the Heroes charity.

The event was organised by the Yorkshire Bike Forum and ran from Squires Cafe Bar near Sherburn in Elmet to Eden Camp near Malton.

Organisers said they estimated more than 500 bikers were on the ride, each paying £10 to register.

Riders were met at the camp by members of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force.

Chris Eden, from the Yorkshire Bike Forum, said: "We wanted to honour our troops both home and away.

"This event is our way of showing this. It's far too easy to forget about the pain and suffering our service men and women have to deal with."
