Suspected arson over Brimham Rocks grass fire

A fire which damaged more than a square mile of grassland in North Yorkshire was a suspected arson attack, the fire service has said.

About 15 firefighters were called to the incident on Saturday afternoon at Brimham Rocks, a popular visitor site near Harrogate.

The fire service said the fire which was more than 1 sq-mile (1.6 sq-km) in size took more than an hour to put out.

No-one was injured in the incident. An investigation has begun.
