Family tribute to teenager killed in Stokesley attack

The family of a 17-year-old who was fatally attacked in North Yorkshire have said his death has left a "huge hole" in their lives.

Daniel Crowther died from head injuries after the attack outside College Pizzas in Stokesley High Street, Stokesley, in the early hours of Saturday.

North Yorkshire Police said three males and a 17-year-old girl were being held on suspicion of murder.

A family statement said: "Daniel meant the world to us."

It continued: "He was a lovely young man who had a bright future and the rest of his life to look forward to.

"He was bright and popular with lots of friends who will be just as devastated as we are that his life has been cut so tragically short.

"The loss of Daniel has left a huge hole in our lives."

Police are questioning two 17-year-old boys from Guisborough and a 17-year-old girl and 25-year-old man from Middlesbrough.

Witnesses or anyone with information are being urged to contact police.
