Cyclist dies after crash with car on A65 Settle bypass

A 51-year-old cyclist has died after a collision with a car on a bypass in North Yorkshire.

The man was one of a group of three cyclists on the A65 Settle bypass when he was involved in a crash with a Volkswagen Golf at about 0950 BST.

Police said the man, who has not yet been identified but is from the Bristol area, was taken to Airedale General Hospital but later died.

Witnesses to the accident are being asked to contact police.
