Armed police search Edinburgh to London train in York
Armed police officers boarded an East Coast train travelling between Edinburgh and London King's Cross when it arrived in York on Friday.
The officers were responding to reports that a passenger on the train had seen a man with a gun in his bag.
The service, the 1330 BST train from Edinburgh was searched at the North Yorkshire station at 1534 BST.
British Transport Police confirmed the incident but said there was no cause for alarm. No arrests were made.
