Northallerton High Street shops wrecked in fire
Arsonists are believed to have started a fire which has wrecked a row of shops in the centre of Northallerton.
More than 50 firefighters tackled the blaze in the High Street in the early hours of Saturday.
The fire is thought to have started in a tattoo parlour, which was completely destroyed, and spread to a neighbouring lawnmower repair shop and an opticians.
Fire service investigators are trying to establish the cause of the blaze, which is being treated as suspicious.
A North Yorkshire Fire Service spokesman said part of the High Street had been cordoned off as council engineers assess the structural damage to the buildings.
