A fire crew is still at the site of a large blaze at a barn containing 5,000 straw bales in North Yorkshire.

The fire and rescue service were called to Chariswood Farm Barn, near Ripon, at about 17:57 GMT on Monday. Eight fire engines were sent to the scene.

The fire service had "scaled down" the incident after water was pumped from a lake in Lightwater Valley theme park.

About 1,000 cattle, which were in the adjacent animal shed, have been moved to safety and are thought to be unhurt.
