York City FC ban fan for life over alleged racist abuse

A York City football fan has been banned from the ground for life after the club said he was found to be chanting racist remarks.

The 41-year-old York man was arrested for racially aggravated abuse at a game in November and has been bailed.

Manager Gary Mills said the club would not tolerate racism.

He said: "It's a minority. It's not something any of us want. I don't like it and I don't want it but of course it is there."
