Accidental death verdict on man's River Ouse drowning

Bars by the River Ouse A plaque has been put up outside the Revolution bar where Mr Horrocks worked

A verdict of accidental death has been recorded at the inquest of a 21-year-old man who drowned after jumping into the River Ouse in York.

Richard Horrocks was the third person to drown in the river in 2011 when he jumped from a balcony to celebrate his last shift at the Revolution bar.

Since his death his family has been campaigning to highlight the dangers of falling or jumping into rivers.

A plaque has also been put up outside the bar to reinforce the message.
