Woman admits Leyburn toilet hammer attack robbery

A woman has admitted attacking and robbing a pensioner in a public toilet in North Yorkshire.

Selina Fawcett, aged 84, suffered head injuries during the hammer attack at Leyburn Market Place in November 2011.

Ellen Pounder, aged 47, of Rosedene, Carperby, North Yorkshire, admitted unlawful wounding and robbery.

Ms Pounder denied wounding with intent when she appeared at Teesside Crown Court and will face trial on 19 March.
