Man injured in Scarborough shooting released from hospital

A man injured in a shooting in Scarborough on Saturday has been released from hospital.

The 36-year-old underwent surgery for a leg injury following the attack at a property in High Garth, Eastfield.

North Yorkshire Police said a 28-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Tuesday, remains in police custody.

A 51-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail.

A 26-year-old woman, arrested on Monday in connection with the shooting, has been released without charge, officers said.

North Yorkshire Police said investigations were continuing, with officers actively searching for the weapon which was used.
