Queen Ethelburga's College hit by fire
A fire has damaged part of a private school in North Yorkshire.
Fire crews were called to the junior school at Queen Ethelburga's College in Thorpe Underwood near Boroughbridge at 09:25 BST on Sunday.
The school said floor material under a bin in a science classroom was found to be alight but the fire was put out by a staff member before fire crews arrived.
The cause of the fire was still unknown and an investigation was continuing, North Yorkshire Fire Service confirmed.
The classroom was being cleaned and would be "fully functioning" again by Monday morning, the school said.
Queen Ethelburga's College has about 1,100 pupils between the ages of 11 and 19.
It was previously damaged by a fire in a paper archive store in December 2005.
