Osgodby house damaged by lightning strike

A house in North Yorkshire had two holes blown in its roof after being hit by lightning according to the North Yorkshire Fire Service.

The strike on the house in Sand Lane, Osgodby near Selby at about 18:30 BST also fused the electrics.

Nobody was injured and firefighters made temporary repairs to the roof.

The fire service had a "busy evening" with about 12 calls to flooding in Knaresborough, Harrogate and Kirk Deighton near Wetherby.
