Cyclist dies following North Yorkshire collision

A cyclist has died after being seriously injured in a collision with a car in North Yorkshire.

The man collided with a Ford Mondeo on the B6265 at Bridge Hewick, near Ripon, at 07:30 BST.

The 42-year-old was taken to hospital by air ambulance but died later. The driver of the car was not injured.

North Yorkshire Police said the road was reopened after being closed for several hours following the crash.
