York attackers injure man with golf clubs and wood

Three men have been arrested after a gang attacked a man in York with golf clubs and pieces of wood.

North Yorkshire Police said the 28-year-old man had suffered head injuries and was treated in York Hospital.

Officers said that when they arrived the gang had already fled, but the arrests were made later.

Det Sgt Rebecca Dyer said the incident, on Lowther Street on Saturday lunchtime, had been an isolated incident.
