Plans to create a 32-berth marina on the site of a former paper mill in Selby have been approved by councillors.

The £50m scheme, which also includes 300 new homes, would be built on the former Rigid Paper mill, next to the Selby Canal and the River Ouse.

The paper mill closed in 2010.

Selby council also granted outline permission to a scheme to build more than 800 homes and a new primary school at Olympia Park on Barlby Road.
