Police investigating a burglary, during which four men threatened a family with crowbars, have made an appeal on the BBC's Crimewatch programme.

The gang took six shotguns, a rifle, jewellery and a Porsche 911 car during the raid at a house in High Birstwith, near Harrogate, on 6 December.

Victim Ben Kempley said the men, said to be of Asian appearance, threatened to kill his mother and sister.

The stolen Porsche was later found abandoned in Tang.

Ben, who was just 16 at the time of the raid, said: "The threats they were posing were, initially, that they would kill my mum and sister.

"When you get told that by people you do not know in balaclavas with crowbars it's a serious threat."

Crimewatch: Monday at 21:00 BST on BBC One.
