Man found dead in York's River Foss named as Leslie Bell

A man found dead in the River Foss in York has been named by police.

Leslie Bell's body was removed from the River Foss near Layerthorpe by firefighters at 12:40 GMT on 18 November.

The death of the 63-year-old, from the Monkgate area of York, is not being treated as suspicious.

North Yorkshire Police said it was unclear how Mr Bell ended up in the river. An inquest is expected to open next week.
