York homecoming parade for Army medics

A homecoming parade has taken place in York for military medics who were based at the Camp Bastion field hospital in Afghanistan.

More than 200 members of the UK Medical Group 20, including 34 Field Hospital, based in Strensall, marched from Duncombe Place to Mansion House.

The parade was held following a thanksgiving service at York Minster.

The hospital at Camp Bastion provided care for injured personnel for eight years, treating about 14,000 patients.
