Scarborough child rapist jailed for historical attacks
A man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for historical sexual abuse of a young girl in Scarborough.
Peter Wallis, 59, of Thornden Buildings, Selby, was found guilty at York Crown Court of six counts of rape, three counts of indecent assault and one count of gross indecency.
Police said the offences took place between 1985 and 1994 in Scarborough.
Det Con Nadine Evans described Wallis as "an evil man who subjected his victim to sustained abuse".
