Passer-by sought after fatal crash near Harrogate

Police investigating a fatal crash in North Yorkshire have said they want to speak to a man who stopped at the scene to offer assistance.

A 44-year-old man died when his Mitsubishi left the B6165 at Nidd, near Harrogate, at 17:20 GMT on Friday. He was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Immediately afterwards, a man stopped and offered to disconnect the battery.

North Yorkshire Police said he may have been the first on the scene and is appealing for him to come forward.
