Thirsk care home murder suspect, 53, charged

A 53-year-old woman has been charged with murder after a man was found dead at a care home in North Yorkshire.

Police were called to Sowerby House care home in Sowerby, Thirsk, on Wednesday after David Paterson, 81, was found dead in his room.

Heather Pauline Davidson, of Sowerby, appeared at Northallerton Magistrates' Court on Friday.

North Yorkshire Police said the woman did not work at the care home, which remained open during its investigation.

Davidson was remanded in custody and will appear at Teesside Crown Court on Tuesday.
