Man due in court on Kevin McDaid case related charges

Police investigating the murder of Coleraine man Kevin McDaid have charged a 21-year-old man with making threats to kill and intimidation.

He is expected to appear at Antrim Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Mr McDaid, a Catholic community worker, was beaten to death by a loyalist mob in a sectarian attack in the Heights area of the town in May 2009.

On Tuesday, in a separate hearing, a court heard there are 37 suspects for his murder.
