Man arrested after 40-mile chase

A robbery suspect has been arrested in County Tyrone following a 40-mile police chase.

The 33-year-old man was arrested near Plumbridge on Tuesday night after police followed a car that had driven off from the scene of a robbery at a supermarket in Magherafelt.

A stinger device was used to halt the car at about 2030 BST.

At 1930 BST money was snatched from a till at a shop in Magherafelt by a man who threatened to stab a staff member.
