Portglenone man faces court over shop arson attack

A 26-year-old man has appeared in court charged with arson endangering life.

James Brian Greer, from Garvaghy Grove in Portglenone, is charged with starting a fire at a shop in the village early on Wednesday morning.

A woman was helped to safety from a flat above the shop by firefighters. She was not injured.

Mr Greer was denied bail after the judge at Ballymena Magistrates Court decided he would be liable to commit further offences.
