Six-year-old child escapes bomb injury in Coleraine

A woman and her six-year-old son escaped injury after a petrol bomb was thrown at a house in Coleraine.

The bomb was thrown through a window at the house in Silverthorn Avenue in the Harpur's Hill area shortly before 2400 BST on Wednesday.

Police said the petrol bomb failed to ignite and appealed for anyone with any information to contact them.

No motive for the incident has been established.
