Londonderry bar evacuated after arson attack

A city centre bar in Londonderry has been evacuated after an arson attack.

Firefighters were called to the Ice Wharf bar on the Strand Road just after 0000 BST on Monday.

Station Commander Kevin Lynch said it appeared someone had set a fire in the men's toilets which caused a lot of acrid smoke.

"Fire crews using breathing apparatus were sent in to extinguish the fire. Thankfully no-one was hurt," he said.
