Man forced into taking money from employer

A man was held at gunpoint, threatened and forced to take money from his workplace in Castlereagh on Friday.

At around 0850 BST, on Imperial Street, a van blocked the path of a car driven by a shop employee and two men forced him into the back of the van.

One of the men was armed with what appeared to be a handgun.

The man, aged in his 20s, was threatened and told to take a sum of money from the shop and to then leave the money close to Kilbroney House.

After carrying out the instructions, he was struck on the head with the handgun and released from the van at Willowfield Parade.

The police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
