PSNI appeal over serious city sex assault

The PSNI has released details of a serious sexual assault which is alleged to have taken place in Belfast.

The incident happened at about 0200 BST on Sunday 10 October but was not reported to the police until the following day.

The victim, in her late twenties, was attacked near Queen's University.

Detectives from the rape crime unit are appealing for anyone in the vicinity of the universitiy's main building between 0200 and 0430 BST to contact them.

The woman was wearing a black dress and black coat and had been in the company of three males in their late teens. One of the youths is described as having straight, shoulder-length dirty fair hair, and was of skinny build.
