Horse put down after hit-and-run in Katesbridge

A horse has been put down after it was struck by a lorry in County Down on Saturday, police have revealed.

A man riding the horse suffered minor injuries following the accident at Ballyrooney Road in Katesbridge.

They were hit by a white flatbed lorry which failed to stop. The horse's injuries were so severe that it had to be put down.
