Man beaten with iron bars in west Belfast home

A 42-year-old man has been beaten up by a gang in his home in west Belfast.

At about 2245 GMT on Sunday, four or five masked men pushed their way into his house at Hamill Street and beat him with iron bars.

He was treated in hospital, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

While a motive has not been established, police said a paramilitary-style attack is one line of inquiry.
