Man injured in Portadown gas tank explosion

A 50-year-old man has been injured in a gas explosion in Portadown.

The man was using oxy-acetylene cutting equipment when the explosion happened in a yard at Obins Street on Thursday morning.

It happened at about 1100 GMT. The man has been taken to hospital, where he is understood to be in a stable condition.

The Health and Safety Executive and the local council are to investigate the incident.
