Man acquitted of abusing two boys

A 71-year-old north Belfast man has been acquitted of sexually abusing two primary school boys.

Brendan Hull, of Ballynure Street, had consistently denied the charges, which also included engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

Following a defence application at Belfast Crown Court, the judge directed the jury to acquit him.

Mr Hull's acquittals came after inconsistencies were found in the prosecution evidence against him.
