Man is stabbed during robbery bid in Antrim

A 20-year-old man has been stabbed during an attempted robbery in Antrim.

The victim was walking along Springfarm Road shortly after 1400 GMT on Saturday, when the robber emerged from behind a bush and demanded money.

The man tried to walk away but was attacked and suffered a puncture wound to his abdomen.

His attacker, who was described as being in his late teens, was wearing a black-hooded top with a red scarf over his face, fled empty-handed

The vicitm's injuries are not thought to have been life-threatening.

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
