A Banbridge window manufacturer has ceased trading with the loss of 31 jobs.

Bowmans NI Ltd entered into a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) in an attempt to restructure its debts.

However, its administrator said on Friday that it was no longer able to pay its creditors and all employees were made redundant on Wednesday.

The family-owned business was set up in 1970.

The administrator Walter Lismore of the Lismore Group said the job losses were "regrettable".

"This particular industry has contracted over the past few years as the UK and Irish recessions have developed and the company has become a casualty of that," he added.
