Four in court after mortar bomb seized in County Louth

Four men have appeared in court in Dublin charged over the discovery of a mortar bomb in County Louth.

Patrick Tierney, from Drumarg Park and Patrick Gordon, of Newtownhamilton Road, Armagh were charged with having an explosive substance, an improvised mortar launcher and a mortar.

Dalton McKevitt and Niall Farrell, both from Dundalk, were also charged with membership of an illegal organisation.

All four were remanded in custody.
