A petrol bomb has been thrown at a house in Lisburn.

The incident occurred shortly after 0100 GMT on Sunday in the city's Brokerstown Road area.

The device caused minor damage to the front of the property. A vehicle parked nearby was also damaged.

Lisburn SDLP representative Aisling Twomey said it was "extremely fortunate that the couple inside the property escaped injury".

" Nevertheless it does not take away from the seriousness of this attack," she said.
