Police in Ballyclare attacked after drug search

Police have come under attack from youths throwing bricks and petrol bombs during a drugs search in Ballyclare.

A 31-year-old man has been charged with drugs offences after the search at the house in Grahamstown Park.

He is charged with possession of a class A drug and possession of a class A drug with intent to supply. He will appear in court in March.

Police said a makeshift barrier was also briefly placed across a road. There are no reports of any injuries.

Meanwhile, police in the town are investigating another attack in the early hours of Thursday morning.

A petrol bomb was thrown in Readers Park at about 0410 GMT.

Minor scorch damage was caused to a car.

Police said graffiti had been daubed on a wall in the development.

A PSNI spokesperson said officers believe three people were involved in the incident and are keen to speak to any witnesses.
