Woman is injured in Shankill assault

A woman has suffered a number of injuries after being assaulted by two men in the Shankill area of Belfast.

The victim was attacked shortly after 0230 GMT at Sydney Street West.

She was left badly bruised, with injuries to her chest and wrist and required a number of stitches. Both of her attackers spoke with local accents.

Both wore dark clothing and had hoods up, with one having a scarf around his face. Police have appealed for witnesses.
