South Eastern College challenges inspection report

Education

The South Eastern Regional College has made an official complaint about the highly critical findings of a recent inspection.

The further education college was told the quality of its Essential Skills courses was inadequate, especially in the teaching of literacy and numeracy.

Middle and senior managers were also criticised.

A spokesperson for the college said it was challenging the report.

After the findings were announced last month, the college argued that this was "a snapshot" inspection and not a reflection of student success rates.
