Man arrested over armed robbery in Castlereagh

A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a convenience store in Castlereagh.

Two men entered a shop in the Newtown Park area just before 2200 GMT on Saturday.

One had a firearm in his possession and the other a crowbar. The men took money before running off.

The 19-year-old was later arrested in the Glendale area and a pellet gun, money, a balaclava and gloves were found in Glendale Avenue.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has information in relation to it to contact them.
