Minister could give Strabane footbridge the go-ahead

Strabane

There is growing speculation that the government is to give the go-ahead for a footbridge in Strabane next week.

The Social Development Minister, Alex Attwood, is expected to announce more than £2m of funding for the project on Tuesday.

Construction on the bridge, which will link Ballycolman to the head of the town, could begin as early as October.

Sinn Fein Councillor, Jarlath McNulty, who has campaigned for the bridges project welcomed the news.
