Man uses hatchet in west Belfast credit union robbery

Two men have robbed a credit union in Ballymurphy, west Belfast.

One of the men, who was armed with a hatchet, entered the Springfield Road credit union at about 2110 BST on Friday.

He threatened staff and the second man came in. The pair escaped with cash, cheques and an employees handbag.

A stolen Mercedes car, used in the robbery, was later found by police in Moyard Crescent in Belfast.
