Boys arrested after petrol bomb attack in Cookstown

Two boys were arrested after a petrol bomb was thrown at a house in Cookstown, County Tyrone.

The device failed to explode during the incident in the Beechway area on Tuesday night.

The elderly resident of the house is not thought to have been a specific target for the attack.

Both boys, aged 12 and 14, were later released from custody.

One of them is to be reported to the Public Prosecution Service, the other has been released pending further enquiries.
