Man held over bus stop attack in Belfast

A 19-year-old man has been arrested after another man was attacked at a bus stop in Belfast city-centre.

Police said the incident happened at Donegall Square West on Friday when two men were verbally abusing a woman foreign national.

A 31-year-old man intervened and one of the men hit him on the head with a bag which contained a bottle.

He suffered a two inch gash to the head and his attacker ran off.

Police said the 19-year-old man was arrested near Central Station in Belfast.
