Londonderry family forced out by 'sectarian' attack

A mother-of-four has said her family was forced to leave their Londonderry home because of a sectarian attack.

Grace Kelly has described those behind the attack on her home of nine years as "cowards".

Anti-Catholic graffiti was daubed on the front wall of the house on Ardnabrocky Road last Friday. The windows on a car parked at the house were also damaged.

Police have confirmed they are treating the incident as sectarian.

Ms Kelly and her four children, aged between seven and 18, are now in emergency accommodation.

Ms Kelly said she was awoken late at night by the sound of breaking glass, but that when she went out to investigate, nobody was there.

Her children, one of whom suffers from seizures, are afraid to go to school in case they are bullied.

"I'm not scared of them. I think they're just cowards," said Ms Kelly.

"I'm just angry with what they've done to the kids."
