Man appears in court over Kilkeel murder

A 28-year-old man has appeared in court in Newry charged in connection with a murder in Kilkeel, County Down.

Ukrainian born, Dmytro Grysunov, 29, was shot dead during a clash between two groups of foreign nationals at Rooney Park on 23 April.

Darius Brazas, originally from Lithuania, but now of Hawood Way, Kilkeel, is accused of assisting an offender and affray.

He was remanded in custody on Monday to appear again later this month.

Two other men have been arrested in Dublin in relation to the murder.

A man in his 20s was arrested on Wednesday after he made enquiries about applying for a passport at a Garda station in the city.

A second man was arrested in a follow-up search in north Dublin on Friday.

A 32-year-old woman appeared in court in Newry on Friday charged in connection with the murder.

She was charged with assisting an offender, perverting the course of justice and withholding information.

Three men aged 31, 36 and 26 have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
