West Belfast knifepoint hijack victim punched in face

A woman has been punched in the face and hijacked at knifepoint in Belfast.

Two men hijacked the woman's van in the Black's Road area of west Belfast at about 0530 BST on Thursday.

The driver was let out of the vehicle at the Old Golf Course Road on the outskirts of west Belfast.

The thieves then drove off along Upper Dunmurry Lane and onto Cherry Park. It was found abandoned in Glasvey Drive at 0610 BST.

One of the men was wearing a navy dark top and is believed to be in his 20s. The second man is described as being stocky, in his 30s, with strawberry blond hair and a scar on his left temple. He was wearing a red scarf.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
